In 1970s England, a university professor and a small student team isolate a troubled young woman in a remote house to test whether frightening “paranormal” events can be created by the human mind. As the sessions intensify and are recorded on camera, strange disturbances escalate and the group’s ethics—and safety—begin to unravel.
